What BestPlaces Users Say about Berlin

Berlin, New Hampshire is a small city located in the northern part of the state. It has a population of just over 10,000 people and is known for its scenic landscapes and outdoor activities. The cost of living in Berlin is significantly lower than the national average, making it an attractive place for those looking for affordable living. However, like any other place, it has its pros and cons. Here's a summary of what some users have to say about living in Berlin.

According to user "Jen W.", who has been living in Berlin for 5 years, the city has a "strong sense of community" and is a close-knit community where everyone knows each other. She also mentions the beautiful hiking trails and lakes in the area that provide ample opportunities for outdoor activities. However, she does caution that the job market in Berlin is limited and it can be challenging to find good-paying jobs.

Another user, "Mark R.", has been living in Berlin for 2 years and describes it as a "quaint and charming place." He appreciates the small-town feel and friendly locals. However, he also mentions the lack of diversity in terms of restaurants and entertainment options, and recommends that newcomers should be prepared for a slower-paced lifestyle.

In contrast, "Emily T.", who has lived in Berlin her entire life, shares that she loves the affordability and simplicity of the city. She also highlights the low crime rate and good schools as major positives. However, she does mention that the extreme weather in the winter can be a challenge for some, and advises newcomers to invest in good winter gear.

Lastly, "David L." has been living in Berlin for a year and mentions that while he enjoys the peacefulness and natural beauty of the city, he has faced some difficulties with the lack of public transportation and limited job opportunities. He also suggests that newcomers should have a car to get around and explore the surrounding areas.

In conclusion, based on these user reviews, living in Berlin, New Hampshire seems to offer a tight-knit community, affordable living, and a beautiful natural environment. However, it may not be suitable for those looking for a bustling city life or a wide range of job options. As with any place, it is important to weigh the pros and cons and do thorough research before making a decision to move to Berlin.

Run! - 9/6/2012
I have live in Berlin now for 25 years off and on! It was a better place to live in the 80's and 90's, but now it is overwelmed with welfare and drugs! There is a false sense of entitlement amongst the people, political figures only run for the popularity and rarely do anything for the community. The Police seem to only be interested in domestic violence and DWI bulking up numbers to present figures to the council in order to get more money in their budget! It's a small town so everyone knows everyone's business, no fun! Berlin could be a great place to live if you're the kind of person who likes to just stay home! But once you're here it's hard to leave and not come back! Something drags you down and back everytime! I've left Berlin Multiple times and have return everytime! If you plan to move here plan on drinking a lot because there's no shopping but there's 7 public bars and 2 private bars. The majority of people I know have jobs either out of town, at the nursing home, or at the Read More

Berlin is nice. it is. it has a nice history and woodsy feel to it.
